18 September 2025When I booked my spa day, I was mostly looking forward to some downtime and a catch-up with a friend. Spotting the Germaine de Capuccini skincare workshop as an optional extra, we thought it sounded like a fun addition. It turned out to be just that—a light-hearted, hands-on way to try new products and share a few laughs, all while picking up useful tips from our therapist. If you’re after something a bit different to round out your spa visit, I’d definitely recommend it.

Workshop highlights
Cleansing & double cleansing
The session started with cleansing—something I thought I knew all about. Our therapist introduced the idea of double cleansing, explaining how it really gets rid of makeup, sunscreen, and daily grime. We sampled several cleansers: a beautifully-scented cleansing milk (vanilla and mandarin), an oil-to-foam Dual Cleanse (a double cleanse in one product), a gentle Pure Expert face wash, and a micellar-like cleansing water. The big takeaway? Clean skin is the starting point for an effective routine.
Exfoliation
Next was exfoliation. We tried two options: an intensive weekly scrub and a gentle daily exfoliant called 365, which felt perfect for regular use. Exfoliation, we learned, boosts skin’s glow and helps other products work better by removing dead skin cells. It’s a step I’ll definitely be doing more often.
Toners
Toners, which I used to skip, turned out to be more important than I thought. Our therapist explained that they rebalance skin after cleansing, help restore its protective barrier, and are tailored to different needs, from dryness to oil control. This step is quick but makes a noticeable difference in how skin feels.

Serum and eye cream
We then explored serums, which target specific skin concerns with potent ingredients. My favourites were the Vitamin C serum for brightening and the regenerating serum for hydration. We also talked about the popular Wrinkless eye serum—apparently a viral favourite—and a Vitamin C eye serum for extra brightness. The key advice: always apply serum before moisturiser, so those ingredients can sink in deep.
Moisturiser
The final touch was a moisturiser, which locks everything in and keeps skin protected. After learning about this sequence, the process felt straightforward and achievable at home.
