Training for a Race: A Smarter, Stronger Approach
14 May 2026We recently had the pleasure of catching up with Hannah, an incredible athlete whose journey is inspiring. Hannah’s story is a testament to resilience and determination. A former ski instructor, she faced a life-changing illness that left her physically handicapped. But true to her spirit, she didn’t let that stop her. Instead, she threw herself into wakeboarding and adaptive skiing, competing at a high level and showing the world what’s possible when you combine grit with an unshakable spirit.

Towards the end of last year, Hannah experienced another medical setback that left her exhausted and unable to train for a while. Despite this, her positivity and drive remain unwavering. She’s focused on her recovery and has found a supportive community and renewed motivation at Pulse 8 and Nirvana Health.
As Hannah looked towards the future, she set herself two important goals. The first is a deeply personal one – walking down the aisle on her wedding day. Every workout and recovery session brought her a step closer to that milestone. The second, a sporting one, with an eye on a wakeboard competition, keeping her competitive fire alive.
Hannah attends weekly classes, recently adding of aqua and spinning to her routine, which she loves not just for the fitness benefits, but also for the social connections and encouragement she receives. She’s a big fan of the Dead Sea Salt Therapy Pool, which enhances her fitness and flexibility, and the thermal facilities for relaxation and mental wellness.

When we spoke with her, Hannah shared how much she’s learned from the team. She’s discovered how to train effectively while incorporating rest into her schedule - on tougher days, she knows to reduce reps and take longer breaks between sets. She also highlighted the support she’s received, especially from Fitness Coach Eleanor, who has helped her understand her nutritional needs and how dietary changes can help manage pain.
Whether she’s preparing to walk down the aisle or take on the water, Hannah's determination and ability to adapt to challenges are a testament to her incredible strength.
